1. Roll Tide!
If we can keep Croyle healthy, we are looking at a great bowl game. We play TN on Saturday and that's always a tough game.

I'm pretty happy with Shula. He's done well!

Roll Tide!!

6. If Bama can win out
I can imagine a UA/VPI match-up.

And, of course, my beloved Mountaineers have the inside track to the Big East BCS berth, if they can get past South Florida, Connecticut, Cincy and Pitt.

If we wound up with a UA/WVU BCS game, I'd probably just spontaneously combust.

9. I'm just hoping that we beat TN and Auburn
I'm too scared to look past TN too much but I'm hoping for a doozy of a bowl game this year!

Oh, yes! The season is looking so much better than it did last year!

18. Don't count on the Hoos
Don't EVER count on the Hoos. That game Saturday was a once in a decade treat...trust me I am a fan.

Tech fans around here are already counting on Mack Brown to come through for them and get another shot at SC that they feel they got robbed out of last season. Apparently during the long summer months they created some sort of controversy about a punt in last year's game against USC.

3. Expecting Va Tech to be 2
Everyone has been saying Va Tech would be 2 in the BCS. This sort of confounds me.

Something tells me to put money on Va Tech this Thursday. They're gonna be mighty pissed off!!

7. I think the top three
are pretty solid. After that I see about fifteen teams scrambling for the next seven spots in the top ten. As things stand right now Auburn (my team) will be playing the number 4, 5 and 6 ranked teams as the season winds down. Beginning with L.S.U. Saturday. I think they could win all three. And if they did they would probably move up to maybe #15. Ha! Ha! No respect for us.

By the way: There is no Div. I college football championship. Never has been.

13. Wisconsin 14?
I can't believe they went up so much after beating Minnesota on possibly the worst play ever in the history of football.

Go Badgers!

16. Notre Dame is properly much further down than the polls have them
I'm anything but an irish hater. They are my third favorite team.

But losing two games at home at this point in the season doesn't warrant anything close to Top Ten, which is where the subjective polls have them.

Who gives a damn about margins? You never give an athlete or team too much credit for coming in second, especially at home. In horse racing, bettors love to pretend horses who routinely run a close second are actually better than they are. The proper term for those horses is sucker horses, because that's what you are if you expect too much of them in the future.

19. I think they stayed put because of the game on Saturday
as a friend said to me that night (no ND fan this guy) "Notre Dame shouldn't fall in the polls because of that game. It was too good for anyone to be penalized by it other than losing it"

When I saw that they stayed at #9 I figured that that was what happened.

22. As a member of the Notre Dame nation
They were also lucky that the fact that 3 other teams in the top 10 lost also, so they were able to hold fast, if that haven't happened they would have fallen.

20. Va.Tech fans can FEEL IT
Tech fans around here are already counting on Mack Brown to come through for them and get another shot at SC that they feel they got robbed out of last season. Apparently during the long summer months they created some sort of controversy about a punt in last year's game against USC.

I talked to a big Tech fan (in a den of Tech fans) and they are just sure they are going to get to play SC for the title this year.

We'll see.
