How are the high school football teams doing in your area?
The local team, Hartselle High, defeated Vigor High of Prichard 13-3 in the Alabama Class 5-A state championship game Thursday night in Tuscaloosa.

It's Hartselle's first stste championship, though they've reached the final round twice before.

Yeeeehaw! Hurrah! and all that.

3. Last year two of the county schools won state championships
Edited on Fri Dec-02-11 04:50 AM by Mudoria
West Rowan won it's 3rd straight state 3A championship and Salisbury it's first in 2A. This year West is back for an attempt at #4 on Saturday but Salisbury lost in the semi-finals. Not bad for a county of 90k.

I cover H.S. Football in CT. Series began in 1875. Not sure how many games played, though.

8. Here in Texas...
...one of our district teams (Klein ISD) made it to semi-finals, but that's as far as they went. They are used to making it to the 5A Championships so it was a bit of a bitter pill. The school that my son will attend next year (and play for) was a bust this year.

11. Your alma mater made it to the semis and were defeated last
weekend by Dallas Skyline. Klein Forest typically does pretty well, but no this year. They and Klein Collins were bumped out first week. Klein could barely compete at all this year. Heads are going to roll because they hired a coach of the year, championship winner and haven't "received anything" out of it.

15. Hazard wins its first Class A Title,24-6 over Mayfield
Edited on Fri Dec-02-11 11:12 PM by era veteran
HAZARD 24, MAYFIELD 6: B. J. Combs returned an interception 24 yards for a TD to give Hazard the finishing touch on its championship performance.

Unbeaten Trinity (13-0), rated No. 1 in the nation, is seeking its 9th state title in the last 11 years when it takes on Scott County (14-0) in the Class 6A finals Friday night.
Trinity shows why its #1 Nationally, TRINITY 62, SCOTT COUNTY 14: We’ve got a mercy-rule running clock after Garrett Sauer’s 62-yard TD run has given Trinity a 48-point lead with 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
I never heard of a mercy rule in High School Football/ Final Trinity 62--Scott Co 21 (They both recruit in violation of KHSAA Rules)

Covington Holy Cross quarterback Kyle Fuller threw four touchdown passes as the Indians won the Class 2A title with a 33-14 victory over previously unbeaten Glasgow Friday night in WKU’s L.T. Smith Stadium.
