Broncos' John Fox to start Tim Tebow vs. Raiders
The Broncos are sticking with Tim Tebow at quarterback, at least for another week.

Coach John Fox said today that Tebow will start against the Raiders on Sunday. It will be Tebow's third start of the season, and sixth of his NFL career. His first career start came last year at Oakland.

Questions of Tebow's job security started last night and continued today after Tebow struggled in the team's 45-10 loss to the Detroit Lions. He passed for 172 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 63 yards, but an interception and a fumble by Tebow were returned for Detroit touchdowns.

"He's a young quarterback, we're getting to know him better and he's getting to know the offense, with each one of those snaps," Fox said. "I think at the end of the day, we have to see if he can improve and get better in the passing game."

2. That sound you hear is the Raider Nation rejoicing!
Series-ly, the Broncos have several bad seasons in front of them because of their really shitty organization, why not let him start a couple more games that they would lose anyway.

5. Lowly KC? I don't thonk so. Here'd what Hue Jackson said about Tebow...
Raiders coach Hue Jackson on Tim Tebow: “He’s a winner”

The Raiders started their preparations for the Broncos today, holding their first post-bye-week practice, after which, head coach Hue Jackson met with reporters.

At that press conference, Jackson was told that here in Denver, John Fox had committed to Tim Tebow as the starting quarterback for Sunday’s game in Oakland.

“Oh did he?” Jackson said, adding that he was glad the quarterback controversy was elsewhere.

“I stood up here a couple of weeks ago and everybody was ready to hammer me for what was going on with our quarterback. Now it’s somebody else instead,” Jackson said.

Jackson went on to say all sorts of nice things about Tebow. (He might have been the only football person doing so today)....

11. Smart response by Jackson
Never fire-up an opponent, not matter had bad they are -- especially within the same division

Did Tebow forget to put the cross on the ball each time he got it in his hands?

7. Lots of young QBs don't turn it around.
Such as JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, Rick Mirer, Joey Harrington, Tim Couch, David Carr, Matt Leinart, Heath Shuler, Akili Smith, Kelly Stouffer among others.

8. Being a great collegiate player doesn't guarantee you'll be a great a pro

never mind an average one.

I couldn't be happier about what's happening to Tebow because he's finally getting a REALISTIC picture of what he's really worth. As Swede suggests, I'm sure that there's also a list of college superstars who came to terms with their deficiencies as a pro and "turned it around." Whether or not Tebow does is strictly up to him.

9. My Conclusion Is A Bit Different
Edited on Tue Nov-01-11 10:35 AM by ProfessorGAC
When i watched these last 2 games, i see a guy who has accuracy problems, not speed of the game or grasp of concept. Yeah, he has bad mechanics, he eyeballs his receivers and all that. But, it seems he can't hit the broad side of a barn.

I don't know that there is a whole lot that can be done to fix that.

Edited to correct a typo in the title.

10. Tebow would make a fine tight end or a fullback. . .
but not a QB. There would be no shame in that, and he might even get REAL kudos for his play at those positions.

Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. As a long-time NY Giants fan (45+ years), I recall
QB Jeff Hostetler, who started out playing wide receiver; but when Phil Simms got hurt in 1990, coach Bill Parcells took a chance and made him QB. The team went on to win Super Bowl XXV in Tampa.
