Seriously, why is that the most mono-racial job in sports? Other than NASCAR driver.

I know they were the last NFL team to integrate.

14. Not Around Here
In ths south suburbs of chicago you can't go by ANY golf course and not see black guys playing, any weekend. Western suburbs too. Don't know about the northern suburbs. I'd never drive that far on a Saturday or Sunday to find out.

12. I've been to many, and there's a lot of black people in the game.

And, outside of soccer, the NHL represents more countries than any other sport (there's even an Israeli hockey league). Willie O'Ree played for the Bruins back in the 50's, and has been called the Jackie Robinson of hockey.

Edited on Thu Aug-04-11 01:28 AM by hughee99
only 6% of the country are racially identified as "asians, africans, or arabs", that's not too bad.

17. Odd that I see this thread
and a few days later I read about role discrimination and the section mentioned that 96% of the NFL's cornerbacks are black.

It is something I never thought about even though CB is my favorite position on defense and some of my favorite defensive players play the CB such as Charles Woodson, Aaneas Williams. So it is strange for me that a topic I never thought about, read about it twice in two different places in under a week.
