You'd think it would have gone to someone who played at least one match during the year the Espy's supposedly were judging for.

3. Well, since the Espys aren't shown in Russia or Poland,
they didn't have much choice. These days, a women's match is -ova before it begins. :eyes:

What was the period the ESPYS were supposed to be covering? If it was 2010, she did manage to win the Australian Open and Wimbledon that year.

6. It covered after that...and I believe she won last year, and probably should have...
Giving it to her this year is a joke, some sort of bias, or just that the voters have no clue at all about women's tennis...you need to play at least a few matches to be considered it would seem. Or maybe not.

8. By the Espy logic, Martina Navratilova should win every year...
Most consider her the greatest ever...she's not playing, but neither is Serena, and since that doesn't appear to matter...
