Are Latino Players Exploited by MLB?
http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/43665292/ns/sports-baseball/

The number of African-American players in the game may have decreased in the past 20 years, but so has the number of white players. In their place has risen an increasing number of players from Latin America, young athletes leaping at the chance to rise from the poverty of the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Cuba in search of a better life and riches through baseball.

But although baseball has been credited with giving many young Latinos a way to escape from poverty, the system — and MLB in turn — has been accused of exploiting these same players.

2. Yeah sure..
everyone's exploited, everyone's a victim. :eyes: Baseball and sports are a lifeline out of poverty for many young Latinos...and even for the majority that don't make it, at least they had a shot at something other than looking forward to living in a cardboard shack the rest of their lives..

4. Are African American Players Exploited by NCAA?
All signs point to Yes. The difference in baseball is it's a much, much longer road to the top. Last year I went to a San Jose Giants (Class A California League) game. I noticed that nearly all the players for both the Giants and the visiting High Desert Mavericks (seriesly!) were Latino. Then it hit me: more and more white and African American players from the U.S. are playing college ball, then getting drafted right into AA, while the Latino players have to endure the long bus rides from the High Desert to San Jose for meager pay.

5. I'd say yes. Sports blogger Dave Zirin had written about this
in his books.
