Cavs take Kyrie Irving with No. 1 pick
NEWARK, N.J. -- Kyrie Irving headed to Cleveland as the No. 1 pick minutes after the NBA draft started.

Jimmer Fredette had to wait hours to officially become a member of the Sacramento Kings.

Plenty of other players, from veterans to picks, were on the move Thursday night in a draft that was considered a dud talent-wise but certainly wasn't dull.

There was no chance the Cavs would deal Irving, confident his foot is healthy enough to lead the rebuilding effort that follows LeBron James' departure.

List of picks here.

I'm somehow not surprised Kemba Walker didn't fall as far as many mock drafts had him going. I was hoping he would fall to the Suns but the Suns got one of the Morris brothers.

1. How do NBA Draft #1 picks compare to NFL #1 picks, which are notorious busts?
Curious, because i can think of lots of NFL #1's who really never lived up to potential...Blake Griffin comes to mind for the NBA who actually is living up to his potential...

2. In the past
I've read that LaRue Martin was the worst player ever taken #1. Otherwise, off the top of my head, Kwame Brown and Michael Olowokandi. I almost wanted to say Greg Oden but I'm curious as to how he would be with a couple of healthy seasons.

3. I can only think of Lebron as another #1 pick...
Probably lived up to the hype.
