For mad.The 2011 NCAA Baseball Tournament Bracket.
On this slow sports news day, one of the best things of the whole summer. Omaha's a gas. Virginia's the top seed which means they don't have a chance in hell. Look for the Illini to take it all. http://espn.go.com/ncaa/bracket?id=6607258

3. I can remember the early days of ESPN, bluedigger.
And let's face it. ESPN made the College World Series what it is today. But I digress. Maine was a mainstay in those first years of the televised event.

7. They had a good run right after I graduated.

Early mid 80's. Billy Swift was the player of note - had a good career in MLB. They finished (unofficially because there was no losers' playoff) third one year!:applause:

eta: Also Mike Bordick was on the team - not sure if he played with Swift.

6. Omaha has a brand spanking new ballpark in downtown - Ameritrade Stadium
should be a kickass place to play the series...

They didn't make the CWS last year but a ton of them showed anyway. Says volumes about them, I'd say. And, about Omaha.

14. Hmm.. 6 PAC-10 teams...
Edited on Thu Jun-02-11 09:10 PM by Upton
Arizona, ASU, California, OSU, Stanford, and UCLA..

Excellent opportunity for one of them to take it all...the conference of champions is a bit overdue since OSU's back to back titles in 2006-07.

Only see 1 team from the Big Ten. Last college WS champion from the conference of crooks appears to have been the Buckeyes some 45 years ago (I wonder if they cheated?)...but, you know, I've been assured it's all because of the weather. :eyes:

21. I found this CBS stat-tracker last year
Edited on Sun Jun-05-11 09:16 PM by JonLP24
It is really neat and no lag and my connection is far from the greatest. It is kinda like watching a game without real players. Not sure if you know about it. It is great to follow games that aren't televised.

http://www.cstv.com/gametracker/launch/ncaa_mbasebl.html?event=1001328&school=ncaa&sport=mbasebl

Direct link here--http://www.cstv.com/championshipcentral/baseball/ They flash a scoreboard on the right corner and just click on "click here for gametracker" for the game you want to follow.

24. Nothing for me
I don't have cable so I'm looking at the scores at CBS. So far I see early big leads. Dallas Baptist is 5-0 in the 1st over Oral Roberts. Connecticut is up 8-1.

Hell, even the Stanley Cup is shoved to ALT. I don't even know what channel that is.

On Edit: It's on VS not ALT. And the Bruins are way ahead!

For whatever reason the Texas A&M-Arizona and Baylor-California games are delayed. Dallas Baptist looks like they will advance.

And I don't even know where Dallas Baptist is. I used to know about The University of Dallas - a Catholic school.

In this day and age, we should be on top of things. I feel like Lincoln waiting for Gettysburg news.
