Game 7: Bruins-Lightning
Edited on Fri May-27-11 07:52 PM by SpiralHawk
Wow - can't believe no one has started a thread for Game 7. City of Boston is pumped, they say.

My key insider coaching tip for the Bs: Put the puck in the frikkin net.

1. Well played first period by both teams.
B's had a bit of an edge in shots and puck control, but both teams had some good chances, and both are playing real good D so far.

Great save on Recchi there near the end of the period.

8. Edge of your seat shit going on up in here...
I'm calling Lightening in OT.
Early.

I got a feeling.

Boston has been brutal, but something crazy is going to occur.

18. Hell of series either way.
I know that isn't much consolation, but that was a wildly entertaining series, and you couldn't slide a piece of paper between the level of play of these two teams. Roloson was unreal all night long, but the B's just kept coming.

And Stamkos...that's playoff hockey, and he's going to be a great leader for you guys down the road. I couldn't believe he survived, let alone that he came back and played so good.

19. I was a little worried that you cursed them by posting their old Winnie the Pooh jerseys.
That logo doesn't say hockey, it says hug me. :)

17. Happy the B's won, but I feel bad for Roloson, who played fantastic all night.
The B's defense was just incredible tonight, and while the announcers kept talking about Chara I thought Seidenberg played a monster game.

And Florida Panthers? Thank you so much for Nathan Horton! :)

26. And a lot of people say low scoring games are boring.
Go figure. I'm hard pressed to think of any sport that can generate that kind of tension with a 0-0 score. The game literally hinged on every bounce of the puck. Both teams left it all on the ice, and the B's were just lucky enough to get the single goal and hold on. Tampa certainly can't be hanging their heads after that game.

24. Not a single penalty called in the game.
Edited on Sat May-28-11 03:14 PM by Renew Deal
I only saw parts of the beginning and the entire 3rd period. And there wasn't a "missed" foul as far as I could tell. Pretty amazing. The announcers said before the 3rd period that it was the first playoff game since 1992 to be 0-0 with no fouls through 2 periods.

25. There were maybe two calls that could have been made and weren't, but I'm glad they didn't call them
The refs played a part in two games in the series (one for Boston and one for Tampa), so it was good to see them let the players decide such a big game. And both teams were amazingly disciplined.
