Oklahoma linebacker Austin Box dies

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police are investigating whether drugs had a role in the death of Oklahoma linebacker Austin Box.

A police report says a man at the house where officers responded Thursday morning believed Box had overdosed. Authorities didn't immediately release an official cause of death.

The Norman university sent out statements from President David Boren and athletic director Joe Castiglione confirming Box's death. Cherokee Ballard, a spokeswoman for the state Medical Examiner's office, said Box's body was being sent there for examination.

Well, the first paragraph mentions drugs, so maybe they already know something...in any case, this does suck...way too young.

4. Oklahoma is in a bad way today.

And the weather seems to be reflecting everyone's mood. It's been raining nonstop since about 11 last night-about 4.5 inches of rain in Norman since then.

A very, very sad day. Apparently, Austin received his degree last weekend, would've started next year, and was generally a likeable kid by his teammates and his professors.
What a horrible tragedy.
