Zito sore from car accident, but still wants to start Sunday..
Barry Zito's neck and back remained sore a day after his Bentley was broadsided on the passenger side by a red-light runner in nearby West Hollywood on Wednesday night, but manager Bruce Bochy said Zito is confident he can make his scheduled start here Sunday.

Zito wore a neck brace as he came to Dodger Stadium earlier in the day. He was gone by the time reporters were allowed into the clubhouse and expected to go home to rest after undergoing a precautionary MRI exam. Zito had an X-ray at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles shortly after the accident.

"He was pretty shaken," Bochy said. "I talked to him last night. It was really upsetting what happened. It took him by surprise. It happened so fast. Today he feels better about what happened."

Club spokesman Jim Moorehead said he understands Zito's car was hit on the passenger side toward the rear.

A lot of folks, and rightfully so, get on Zito about not living up to the expectations Giants' fans had of him when he signed that big contract. He's been a good Giant though. After being left off last season's post season roster, he took it like a man and stayed with the team, providing valuable support and advice, when a lot players would have gone off sulking..

2. Do we need an OP for every Giants player??
Why not include this in a general "Hey look what the Giants are doing" Thread??

4. I like you Condem..
but it baffles me as to how you interpret a post on the topic of Barry Zito's car accident as having anything to do with gloating..

5. Upton...
..from the comment above mine, I seriously doubt that I'm the only one that has noticed all the needless threads. The ONLY thing I fear more is one of El's 37 favorite teams does something of importance. Unimaginable.

6. You are the only one who posts these, though
Guys get into car accidents all the time (everyday). You really don't need to tell us that Zito broke his toe and now he can't pitch straight - Waah. It's not just this post - it's the Fat Panda and his supposed weight loss, and the new kid who shouldn't have been brought up early because you might have to pay him too much or another Stupid Stoner Lincecum post. We get it you like the Giants. Start one post with the Giants and say please post all Giants news here. There's no need to have post after post on each player on the team.

shows I have exactly TWO posts on the Giants. You're having a bad day, you have issues...I'm sorry, but you are not the sole arbiter as to what is proper to post in the Sports Forum.

8. Dude you really are a douche
I'm having a wonderful day today. I'm not obsessed with a bunch of smelly guys who can't shave properly. Or cut their hair. You are a little obsessed with the Giants. I think you need to seek some counseling. It might help you get over your obsession. :)

10. FWIW
I don't mind these posts. The topic is sports and some like to post about their favorite teams. Like Condem has a post about someone being named starting LT for Iowa.

11. Jon. That was in direct response to Upton's post on the Giant starting first baseman.
Like the starting left tackle for Iowa could be any less relevant than that. Of course it was needless. That was the WHOLE point.

12. OK
That makes sense. But I do think Auggie made a good point considering there were Heyward and Strasburg threads last year.

17. .
Yeah I mean this forum is constantly flooded with Nationals threads!!! there are probably by far more individual posts about the Giants than any other team even before they won the WS. 90 percent from Upton. BTW, when this new first baseman sells out every away game you can compare him to Strasburg - who was a genuine NATIONAL story - this guy, I've never heard of not once. Local, not national. That's why I disappear from this forum from time to time. I want to discuss national sports , not which Giant has a zit this week. Or the result of all SF Giants games spring or not..

18. It was a story about a highly rated rookie
which Heyward and Strasburg were. I think that was the issue, not that he is receiving a lot of hype and being talked about on ESPN. As far as national sports is concerned, Giants are on National TV as I type this.

then put them/us on ignore. Or get over it, because it's just a thread post and means NOTHING.

You're the only Barry who counts, AFAIC.

That being said....

is Upton a paid Giants' publicist??
