since my Crimson Tide didn't even make the dance, I decided to pull for my local team, San Diego State. Had a fun game against Temple today. Bonus basketball, even, with a double overtime.

Of course, it shouldn't have been that close. SDSU made a lot of stupid mistakes that will likely cost them a game at some point.

In particular, I would love to see them beat Duke. With the Fab Five sitting behind their old coach.

14. 2004 was my best bracket ever

Georgia Tech was the first team to defeat UConn that season in a regular season tournament, the problem was UConn was without Okafor in that game. Anyways, when tournament time came I picked Georgia Tech and UConn in the finals even though Georgia Tech didn't win the ACC and many experts didn't have them going as far as I did. Problem is I picked GT to win and UConn had a healthy Okafor and I lost that game. I had a lot of other picks wrong so I wasn't close to winning the reward ESPN had but I was convinced GT was the only team that could beat UConn and I was wrong.

If they ever asked me to cover UConn hoops full time, which is one of the biggest beats, if not the biggest, I would probably say NO. I don't need Jim Calhoun or Geno Auriemma to ruin my life.

cost them the game, apparently.

I couldn't watch it, as I had a Spanish test at the same time, but the local radio guys were all saying SDSU was the better team, but totally beat themselves. Of course, they're local radio guys...

16. They did make crucial mistakes when they managed to cut the lead to one

They had two possessions where they couldn't score and one possession where they threw an interception which set UConn up for an easy basket. Every time SDSU got a nice little lead, UConn went on a run. I don't know about SDSU being the better team. UConn played terrific basketball and Walker for UConn had an amazing game hitting shots from all over the place, including inside.
