I wonder if Lebron realizes what could have been after watching Carmelo
Knicks fans were impassioned last night chanting "Melo" and "Chauncey Billups." Lebron could have become a legend in NY. Instead he's another chump in Miami.

5. Very concise example of why everyone outside of NYC hates NYC.
It's like the Texas of the north.

9. And you can blame the media, mostly. They're the real "legend" makers.
Doesn't matter whether it's New York, Dallas or even San Francisco. Case in point: that sensational TMZ report on Brian Wilson and Charlie Sheen posted elsewhere in this forum.

8. In reality NY
is a basketball town. At least when I grew up everyone played BBall. The high school BBall game was the big game not the football game. They are more passionate about basketball. It's no accident it is the city game. Boston was never a basketball town as it was very easy getting playoff tickets during the Russell years. "the wrong color" played for the Celtics.

but back when ESPN Classic was a basic cable channel. They would show a triple overtime game in the 1976 NBA Finals between Boston and Phoenix. I watched it several times, it was one of the best basketball games I ever seen. It was before my time though, I recall it was at Boston. The fans seemed very passionate, including punching a referee when he put more time on the clock. They stormed the court and had to be put back in there seats.

10. LeBron only cares about LeBron
Do you really think otherwise? In fact one of the reasons I dislike the NBA so much now is that almost every team in the league seems to think there is an I in team. NBA is probably the biggest ME ME ME sports league around right now.

15. watch the Spurs, then
no egos on that team. They play good fundamental basketball, have a much brisker and more up-tempo offense this year. As an example of the lack of egos on that team, they've had seven different players lead the team in scoring in games this year. It's not all about the Big Two or Big Three superstars there.

But watch, ESPN will continue to shit all over the idea of the Spurs' making it to the Finals, then, when they do get there, will be dismayed at the prospect of low ratings, all while never realizing it was their own shit talking that resulted in those low ratings.

Rant off.

17. Yeah, I keep hearing how "boring" the Spurs are...
:eyes:. But I've always liked Tim Duncan. Seems okay for a star pro basketball player...I kinda like Kevin Durant and OKC too. But thats about the only teams I can tolerate (I live in Washington, I don't have a PRO team to root for here...;))

However, being on the East Coast, I rarely can stay up to see them play.....And I love Grant Hill, former local boy.

20. Love Grant Hill
According to reports, he seems like a good guy. I know he is a Dem (though nearly everyone in the NBA is a Dem). I like the way he plays. Smart, does that fake jump shot to get the defender to jump and he has a lane to the basket. Very fundamentally sound.
