New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez allegedly 'hooked-up' with a 17-year-old girl

It's all the blog buzz today, the steamy hook-up between Greenwich High schooler Eliza Kruger and Jets QB Mark Sanchez.

The two supposedly met at a club on New Year's Eve and thanks to the world of social networking, the teenager is leaving little to the imagination when it comes to telling the world about their relationship.

The controversy, other than the obvious celeb gossip angle, seems to be whether the 24-year-old Sanchez( photo courtesy of zap2it.com) is involved in illegal cradle robbing or if the relationship between a 17-year-old and the high-profile thrower is no one's business but their own.

Kruger( photo courtesy of telegraphbuzz.com) , by the way, is the daughter of hot shot Connecticut financier Chip Kruger, and reports are there are already lawyers involved in the matter of "love."

Acoording to one report, Jets spokesman said the team would not comment on Sanchez's personal life. And Eliza's mom... "We're really trying to shut this down."

I know she is underage but I bet Sanchez didn't "ID" her. He's only 24 himself and this is one time it is just what it is. It's not Rothesberger.

2. Well, she's from Connecticut....

Age of consent = 16.
They may have "hooked up" in New York, the age of consent = 17.
He works primarily in New Jersey, age of consent = 16.

Yeah, it's skeevy, but i don't think anything illegal happened.

5. The only thing I can see that may have been illegal

was that she was in a club at 17. I thought most were 21+ or at least 18+. From Sanchez's standpoint, if you meet someone in a club where you have to be at least 18 (and I'm not sure this is the case), is it not reasonable to assume they're at least 18?

there is a lot of change in maturity levels between 17 and 25. What would Sanchez have in common with someone in HS? Plus, he shouldn't be dating someone who smokes.
