Browns hire Rams O.C. Pat Shurmur as head coach
Associated Press / January 13, 2011

CLEVELAND -- Pat Shurmur quickly turned rookie quarterback Sam Bradford into a rising NFL star. Shurmur's next project will be tougher.

Shurmur, St. Louis' offensive coordinator the past two years, was hired by the Browns on Thursday, ending a search for their fifth coach since 1999 that began when team president Mike Holmgren fired Eric Mangini on Jan. 3 after his second straight 11-loss season.

SNIP

Shurmur's late uncle, Fritz, was Holmgren's defensive coordinator in Green Bay when the Packers won the Super Bowl in 1996. And in hiring a candidate with no head coaching experience, Holmgren is following the same path he took in getting to the top of his profession.

Time to work your magic on Colt McCoy, coach. Good Luck.

1. ORDER YOUR SUPER BOWL TICKETS RIGHT F*CKING NOW!
Seriously, looks like Holmgren is trying to clone himself. I wish him (and us Browns fans) the best of luck.

It'll be the first time since The Return that the coach and front office are on the same page. I expect to see a huge improvement on offense, especially give how easy next year's schedule is (we play the NFC Worst). Unfortunately the front seven on D is old and slow and needs an injection. Hopefully we can pick up a #1 WR and RT in FA.

4. EVERYone knows the Road to the SB runs through SF
As in "runs over and squishes." Just kidding, I look forward to seeing if Harbaugh can re-create his magic in the city by the bay.

As for Arsenal: how many Gunners were among the top three finalists for the Golden Boot this year? Oh...that's right, ALL three finalists were blaugranes!
