Guess he's upset that Curt makes more even though Curt is older.

I HAVE to like Curt because I'm a Red Sox fan (he's such a dumb Repuke, though), but I guess I don't have to like Pedro any more. He is such a headcase that I'm glad the Red Sox are rid of him. He had his time in the sun, but those days are over, and when he gets hammered next season, and without the obliging Red Sox management to coddle him, he's really gona wish he stayed put.

Which brings me to another point--is it possible for players in any sport not to talk badly about one another these days? I'm particularly thinking about Kobe vs. the rest of the NBA.

1. NO! If Our Dear Leader has shown us anything useful it's that if you
can't be civil with people you hate, you should be EXTRAAAAAA mean to them!

4. Can't anyone just let a comment pass these days?
They're a bunch of children--always trying to get in the last jab.

Maybe it is a sign of the times, since you're right, we've got a vindictive, worthless little prick as pretender president these days.

2. Wonder if Don Zimmer will be a coach for the Mets this year?

He and Pedro can resume their sparring partnership.

3. Naw--they'll join forces and knock people down together!
Like Don showed us all, when he NEVER got mad when Roger beaned a player, it's ok if the guy doing the beaning is on your team! We can do it, but you can't.

5. I think Pedro's going to the Mets is a good move for everyone: BoSox,
Mets and Pedro. Don't know why Pedro feels the need to spout off so much, but hey, attitude has been a big part of his (good and bad) game. Doubt he'd ditch what helped bring him to the big leagues at this point...overall, though I'm glad he's gone, and, to the NL. It was time.

6. Why not?
Let Petey talk all he wants. At least he never bashed Boston during his stay, like Clemens did. He didn't ever bash his teammates (that I can remember) or the fans, or the city. Let him complain about Theo and his cadre of computer geeks. Lord knows I complain about them enough.

If Theo had gotten off his butt a year ago he could have re-signed Pedro for a lot less. And though his skills may have declined some, he's still better than 80% of the pitchers out there. I think everyone's going to be sorry -- the Mets, when they can't fork over the cash to bolster their team; Pedro, when he gets beaned; and the Sox, when the rotation totally falls apart.

Call me a cynic, but I think the WS win was a total fluke, and we won't see another for YEARS.

7. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It'll be a dynasty!
As for Roger, he wanted to stay in Boston, but the twits running the show wouldn't even offer him anything decent.

Difference--Roger was never a puny little guy like Pedro--he just ain't gonna last. The Mets will be so sorry very soon after Opening day!

8. Petey will do well in the NL
Note his World Series performance. The reason his stats have declined so much in the last few years is because his opponents - particularly the Yankees - have faced him 60 times since the turn of the millenium. They can see his changeup coming. In the NL, however, all his old tricks will become new tricks. He will flourish for a while, and then his shoulder will fall off, and he can open a scouting firm with his similarly gimped-up brother Ramon.

9. it will be interesting to see if he still headhunts

in a league where he has to step into the batters box two or three times in every game he starts.

10. Now maybe the Mariners can beat the Sox.

The M's are 0-fer against Pedro, so I'm glad he's gone to
the NL. Now I just have to find out who we're playing
in interleague this year.

11. Interleague slate
The Sox are going to play the Cards and Cubs on the road June 6-12, then come home and play the Reds and Pirates on the 17th-19th. Then 3 games in Philadelpia on the 24th-26th. No Mets this year, but we will get to see Nomar in his Cubbies pinstripes.

12. Sorry, should have been more specific.
I'm wondering about the Mariners and interleague
play. I'm hoping they don't have to play whoever Pedro's
playing for now b/c they've never beaten him.
