Nebraska Vs. Colorado: The Exit Bowl
Game is this Friday at 1:30 PM Central

"The “Exit Bowl”, the final regular season Big 12 game for both Colorado and Nebraska, gained considerably more intrigue over this past weekend. By defeating Kansas State, 44-36, Colorado kept its post-season hopes alive. Meanwhile Nebraska, in falling 9-6 to Texas A&M, failed to clinch a spot in the Big 12 championship game. A Colorado victory would mean bowl-eligibility; a Nebraska victory would mean the Cornhuskers will play in their sixth Big 12 championship game."

1. 18 and 50
That's the record of the Buffalo Chips vs. the Cornholers. It won't be much of a contest this year either. I couldn't care less.

I am thankful that nobody cares that you don't care.

We will have a fine football game, thank you very much, sans thee.

3. Remember the 62-36 massacre?
From which, for some reason, Nebraska was still awarded a spot in the NC game. Where they were slaughtered again. Certainly one of the lowest and most controversial years, in what has become a series of low and controversial years, in this ridiculous BCS system..

4. Dammmit. Huskers to start Cody Green at QB
Edited on Fri Nov-26-10 06:17 AM by SpiralHawk
Taylor Martinez still gots wobbly ankle syndrome, so Bo Pelini in his wisdom :sarcasm: has picked Cody Green to start at QB against Colorado. Dumb move. Green is a fine fella and all that, but too damn scattered.

They are passing up Zac Lee, a senior who started last year and beat Colorado last year. He's not spectacular, but he is steady. I just don't understand why PeaBrainIlini has not given senior Zac Lee a fair shot this season. Ptooey...

Alabama-Auburn kicking off soon. Always a great game. Then overlapping, the Nebraska-Colorado contest -- a game the hoi polli may be incapable of appreciating, but which will doubtless prove excellently entertaining for the Heartland Cognescenti

6. Paige: Fond memories of Buffs-Huskers rivalry, yes, rivalry
LINCOLN, Neb. — I will miss Nebraska, Lincoln and the Cornhuskers.

I've been coming here every couple of years since 1975, and I'm afraid I'll never be back again — except maybe on vacation.

I will miss sitting in the gazebo at Hazel Abel Park, touring the Larsen Tractor Museum, listening to a local doing karaoke — "Ma, He's Making Eyes At Me" — at a downtown bar, hanging out at the feed & seed store.

I will miss watching quilts being made on Main Street, eating a cheese Runza, enjoying Thanksgiving dinner at the Cornhusker Inn, lying in bed at a motel on the highway and feeling the wind whistle through my room, calling the motel operator and telling her, "I've gotta leak in my sink." And she saying, "Go right ahead. Everybody else in Nebraska does."

With a clear cut victory (45-17), setting them up to participate in next weekend's Big 12 Championship.

* Excepting, of course, those few sad souls who are popularly identified & pitied as Nattering Nabobs of Negativity

9. I'm hoping the Sooners beat the OSU Cowboys tonight
Edited on Sat Nov-27-10 06:48 AM by SpiralHawk
Would luv to see the Sooners Vs. Huskers in the Big 12 Championship. Could happen. Remember way back in the season? The Sooners were ranked #1 for a while. A Short While, anyway. I think both teams and all the fans would luv this as a Big 12 sayonara matchup.
