SF Giant fans: Is Aubrey Huff a free agent?
Edited on Wed Nov-10-10 09:49 PM by Kingofalldems
In case you didn't know you have a 1st baseman in the minors (Brandon Belt) who is a beast. If we can't sign Adam Dunn I think Huff would be a good choice.

1. Huff is a free agent..
though both Aubrey and Brian Sabean have said they'd like to work out a deal for him to stay in San Francisco. IOW, it's going to cost some to lure him away.

Most Giants fans are aware of Brandon Belt. He just shot up through the system last year and his A and AA numbers are superior to those of Buster Posey. I saw him in an Arizona Fall League game MLB Network had on last week or so and he's mighty impressive. Sure looks like a future major leaguer. He still has to prove himself at AAA though, so he'll probably start next year at Fresno. He's at least a year away.

3. He was 3 for 4 last night
He's on the same team as a few Nats prospects-Harper, Solis and Norris. I think everyone mentioned will be in the majors at some point next year.

2. I'd love to see Aubrey Huff play in DC
but I think they need to invest in some strong starting pitching especially as Strasburg will be unavailaiable most of this season.

4. You are right-- but they must replace (or sign) Dunn
or the whole lineup suffers. Let's see--Cliff Lee and take a gamble on Brandon Webb.
