Las Vegas sharps were whispering that trend last week. I never heard it in the mainstream sports media.

Miami's obsession with the Jets is beyond ridiculous. I have no idea how it evolved that way. When I moved to Las Vegas in the mid '80s the Jets were one of several rivals. It wasn't until the internet bloomed that I sampled Dolphin message boards and encountered the frothing preoccupation. The team follows suit, one quote after another. Brilliant. It leads to a glorified forfeit twice per year. Can we really afford that?
