Football comes to Fenway Park
Exhibition game - Celtic Football Club of the Scottish Premier League and Sporting Clube de Portugal. I don't understand this article.

So far, 25,000 seats have been sold of the 37,400 available, according to Sam Kennedy, the Red Sox chief operating officer, who expressed surprise at the slow rate of ticket sales after soccer seemed to have finally caught on in America after the World Cup.

1. Not surprising at all
American interest peaks during the World Cup especially if our team seems to do well and then dies out quickly following the event. Soccer is a second tier sport in the US and I'm guessing it will always remain that way.

7. I don't know why they think Celtic-Sporting is a dream match for Bostonians
And it will probably finish strong on the last day. These games typically do.

10. There are large Irish and Portuguese populations in and around Boston
I know, Celtic is in Scotland, but, being "Celtic", has a strong Irish fan base.

11. Isn't Celtic playing Rangers in Boston too?
If I had to pick a game to go to, I'd go to the Rangers game.

8. I would like to see this match...
but I'm a Celtic fan.

Soccer is never going to make it as a major sport in the US. You would think that the Irish Diaspora in the Boston area would be all over this and be lining up to buy tickets.

Up Celtic! On ya go, Bhoys!

9. Don't call it football!
At least not in America.

Boston is nuts.
