Intertesting story on the new "Big 3"
Edited on Sat Jul-10-10 10:25 PM by wilt the stilt
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- During a rally for Miami Heat fans Friday night, Chris Bosh said he had been talking with new teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade about the moment for months.

It was a slip, which some, including Bosh himself, caught. The premise that the trio had been talking about teaming up for months hinted there was a plan in place. That potentially would be against rules, and could raise concerns from the league since Bosh and James were playing for teams battling for the playoffs in Toronto and Cleveland.

This goes back to my earlier post on Lebron playing so poorly in the Boston series.

Looks like he tanked on purpose.

Was his`elbow really "injured"?

1. Why would he tank on purpose, though?
Even if they beat the Celtics, he's still a free agent at the end of the year and free to go. As far as the "plan" goes, are there rules in place if three players talk about playing together next season before the current season ends? I'm sure if agents, GMs or owners are involved, it's tampering, but if 3 players are sitting around talking about their future free agency, and how they'd all like to play together, I'm not sure it violates any rules. I guess it depends on how much of a "plan" they actually had.

2. If he went all out and won a title in C leveland....
that would nullify his main justification for leaving....he said it himself....going to the Heat gives him his best chance to win now and in the future. Hard to walk away after winning a title. He made up his mind years ago. At the very least there was tampering involved...strictly against NBA rules.

7. Think about it: all of them signed 3 year deals in 2006?
Carmelo was the only one who didn't go along with this and signed a 4 year deal.

I think this was in the works for far longer than "months". I think they were all just biding their times. The only thing that wasn't set in stone was which team they would be on. It could have been anybody. It just happened to be Miami.

With me, it's not so much that he left, but that he's taking the path of least resistance in his quest. Less risk, and more importantly, less burden. Sports championships shouldn't HAVE to be easy.

3. He still nearly averaged a triple double
the Boston series. He also scored 30+ points and had a triple double in Game 6.

Which goes to show you, one definition of struggling is different than LeBron's.

5. Oh come on Wilt
ah you did was complain the way D Howard played in the series against the Celts... Did he tank it or did the Celt's have a good game plan against him.

The Celt's shut down LaBron and he simply had no supporting cast to overcome that. It's going to be fun watching other teams try to shut down both Wade and LaBron...

8. It's speculation but it does seem to be a odd conicidence
3 year contracts. Cleveland couldn't even make it to the finals because that would blow his argument. There was just something odd about the way he played against Boston. it was like he didn't care. Compare the way Kobe plays to the effort by Lebron. I don't like Kobe but I like the way he plays. He is the master of the 15 foot shot.

6. Note that the lack of a FLA State Income Tax
was used by Riley to sell the deal to LeBron. No need to give the residents of Overtown any of his money!
