I would like to say I watched a basketball game last night but I didn't
that didn't look anything like the game I used to play and watch. Slow, plodding, and over officiated (what the hell WAS that that Kobe did on the "foul" by Ray Allen out at the 3-point line?).

Doc Rivers was very accurate during one the last time outs (I lost count of time outs much like the NBA apparently does) "movement, movement, movement" the Celtics looked they had completely run out of ideas early in the 3rd quarter.

Apparently when playing in LA you can't jump up behind Gasul (and not touch him) when he is getting a rebound. Wallace learned that last night. BUT you can duck your shoulder and steam into 3 Celtics standing in the lane and THEY get the foul.

It was boring and a nothing like how the game is supposed to be played.

I see now why I enjoy watching the World Cup- there is action, movement, athleticism, and interest by all involved. I saw almost none of that last night.

2. I grew up watching Lakers-Celtics games in the 80s.
This is not the same sport. The skill levels are lower and the quality of play across the board is pathetic.

Remember the Fast-Break Lakers?

Remember Celtics players hitting three-pointers FOR DAYS?

Those days are gone. Now it's fouls and clock manipulation and players who can't shoot. I'll stick to soccer as well, even my crummy MLS games and my beloved Galaxy.

3. There is no flow, no dance
basketball, all ball sports, are derivative of soccer as we call it

that game was not a game at least not as it was originally created or it has become.

Everyone standing still waiting for the "isolation" to come to fruition.

4. I used to love watching the NBA, but the refs are so crappy now.

They're just so biased towards the superstars. I've seen this trend get worse and worse since the 90's. I didn't watch this season at all, and then I turned in to watch some of the playoffs, and the ref problem is horrible. The refs IMHO are the worst in professional sports.
