I have been punished for lack of faith in my Red Sox...
...didn't watch the bottom of the ninth, because I was so disgusted by the top of the ninth!

I missed it!

Geesh!

2. Actually...I watched it! I sort of thought they might win
that game because of the blow-out the night before. whenever the Sox pile on the runs, they lose the next night--figured that might happen to the Yankees.

BUT, I didn't believe until after Game 5!

10. It was the ultimate irony that the Yankees would blow a 3-0 lead
I hear those apples were granny smiths but I dont know, and I dont know if they liked them apples or not, either way, someone has to cool em off, but I am not worried about them at all, they're not at 500 yet, and my team has a 667 winning percentage, and we just took two of three from a talented team.

coming up--Seattle and Oakland--should be easy, but you notice that I said "should."

Didn't 2004 teach you ANYTHING???

;)

These come-from-behind walk-offs are giving me indigestion, though.

Edited for spelling.

14. Apparently I haven't learned anything!
Or maybe me not watching is a good thing. I missed Kevin's HR the night before. It wasn't intentional. My father started talking to me, and I keep looking back at the game, didn't see it, and then saw everyone jumping up and down at home plate!

6. I didn't see/ hear any of that game (work sucks), but it looks...
like it was another high-wire act.

What's up with Foulke this year---Yikes! 4 runs in the 9th--I just checked the pitching line, he gets charged with a Blown Save AND credited with a Win--LOL. :D

Seriously though, Foulke has to start shutting the door when he comes in--Thank God for Cap'n Tek (and Millar last night).

13. Yeah, after the game it was all about Foulke (and Jason)
I still haven't figured out how he gets credited with the win, and Clement doesn't!

18. Foulke lost the lead so Clement got a no-decision
Clement was then out of the picture.

Foulke was also the pitcher of record when Boston went ahead so he gets the Win.

19. Yeah, but to me it still doesn't make sense because
Clement left the game with a lead. I do see your explanation, but still, the rules themselves don't make sense in this case!

Seriously, they need to do well against Oakland at Oakland to get over the hump. Oakland stinks, as does Seattle, so the next two series will truly tell what is what!

26. who do they play after that?
I was impressed with how the Orioles managed the twins really, average of 3.3 runs allowed per game in the series, and averaging around 5 runs per game against a good staff, Chitown I think will be a challenge, I'd love to sweep em but they are red hot.

skankees play Oakland, and then Seattle. Have to check for afterwards!

Oh, tough loss last night!

21. They won, but it was still a frustrating game, because they
out-played them for 8 innings, and then just sort of lost concentration. True, it was Foulk, but they should have been able to put a few more runs on the board so that there wasn't any need for bottom of the ninth dramatics!

27. ahh man
All I can say is thank god they didnt get off to a good start because if they had, they would be pulling away. Though our schedule for the rest of the month is relatively easy with the exception of the Chisox, tonight should be great, Chen Vs Garland, Garland will be 7-0 if he wins tonight, I dont want that, Chen will be 5-1, and the second 5 game winner on the orioles.

29. Why so down on Chen? I only saw the two games he pitched...
against Boston, but he didn't look THAT bad compared to some of the other pitching in the league right now.

BTW - I think Garland is probably the better pitcher in tonight's match-up.

32. there was this hall of fame pitcher I forget his name
but he started out dreadful with the sox but became a hall of famer with the yanks, ahh yeah red ruffing was the name, I am not saying Chen is gonna go to the hall but maybe he just wasnt a good fit for the sox and youre looking to be right thus far, Garland is damn amazing sadly.

he's a journeyman lefty. I'd be surprised if he is still above .500 at seasons end. I will be SHOCKED if he has an ERA under 4.25.
