2. Never.
People said Zimmerman was going to sign with the Yankees too. Believe me, Nats won't let it happen

3. I could be wrong but I think he's here for 6 yrs.
There is an arbitration year where he will receive a huge raise. That said, the Yankees were hanging around all through spring training---letting themselves be seen by Strasburg and his people.

4. But by the end of his contract
Bryce Harper should be on the team. And I'm betting the Nats will be competitive. I think he'll stay.

6. I think that its not going to be about money with him
You know that the Nats actually OUTBID the Yankees for Teixera right? But he took less money to go to the Yanks

7. Believe me---if the Yanks want someone--- they get that someone.
It cracks me up that everyone seems to think the Nat's will suddenly compete because of two draft picks.

It's the entire farm team that determines how good a team is...not two players.

8. Yeah and that farm system is producing
If you followed the Nats you would know this. They have a lot of young players that are just starting to produce. BTW, Ryan Zimmerman, Adam Dunn, and Josh Willingham (all of whom hit HR's last night) aren't exactly chopped liver. They are a much better team than last year already.
I said they would be about a .500 team this year. In two years I think they will be competing for the division title. Mark my words

10. Actually the Natinals have been fairly competitive this year. Assuming
they are a 500 team, Strasberg (sp) could add 5-10 more wins which would definitely put them in playoff contention.

BTW, how was the wedding?

14. But he'll be out of DC before then..
The Nats, if they're out of contention in '15 will trade him to some team (probably other than the Yankees) that has great prospects and is in contention. It's the right move for the Nats, who won't be able to compete on the free agent market for him.

13. The Key To Keeping Strasburg Aint The Yankees. It's Peter Angelos.
With Strasburg and Bryce Harper, the Nats now have some marquee players which will garner interest and TV ratings. Unfortunately, Angelos made them give him their media rights in order for D.C. to have a team.

Without local media money, the Nats will be cash starved, and some folks here think that the Yankees are evil.

15. I voted 2014
And it won't be a good thing. It's what's wrong with the league. The unlimited payroll of the pinstripes will be the demise of the league.
