MrCoffee says...Uruguay and Mexico advance.

Diego Forlan has a fantastic match against France and Uruguay comes out ahead. Mexico have looked fantastic in their last 3 warm-up matches (horrible luck against England, they should have won that match; held their own against a much better Dutch side; and won out against the holders in a very, very good display) and could potentially run the group.

France is in the toilet. They couldn't score against China, for crying out loud. Domenech is a tool, and his complete mishandling of this team will be their downfall.

1. Agree with Mexico

Mexico and South Africa will advance. Mexico has looked really well and I think the France-Uruguay game will have lots of yellow and red cards. South Africa will make it through against Uruguay by a slight point difference. I do want to see them make it through for the possibility of an Argentina vs Uruguay match.

6. I've got Mexico and South Africa getting out of the group

The WC hosts have never failed to get out of the group stage - even a weak US team got out in '94. I'm picking a shock win over Uruguay, a draw vs. France, a loss to Mexico, and four points gets them through.

That was back when 3rd place teams in the groups could advance. Total gut feeling on Uruguay, after watching Forlan tear through the Europa League this spring. He knows how to get the job done when it counts.
