Howard will have to play lights out. Cherundolo, Bornstein and Goodson were not impressive last night. Be interesting to see their play Saturday in Philly against the Turks.

3. I'd put Gooch in that list as well...he's just not up to speed yet

Gooch put in 65 minutes and he looked ready to keel over at the end of it. I think the defenders will have an easier time when the starting midfield is in (Donovan, Dempsey, Beasley). An easier time against Slovenia and Algeria, that is.

Rooney/Crouch/Defoe will eat our lunch. 5-2 England.

4. They can lose to England and still get out of this weak group.

But as a #2 we would play Brazil or somebody of that stature. We need to win this group. I smell an upset of the Brits. Landon will be the hero.
