The Yankees lose a big one at HOME to the Orioles in Baltimore. If and only if,
all the Yankee fans didn't have to catch the 10:35 Acela train back to NY, they would have had the fan support in the ninth inning.

:D

1. Isn't it kinda early to start calling these "big games"?

3. I am
but what does that have to do with you calling games in April "Big Games"?

Then again, maybe me being a Mets fan has a lot to do with that. We've had lots of years where we've been in first through April and May only to come down to earth in June and July.

I don't know. This seems to be a trend starting in sports. Lots of folks made proclamations of gloom and doom for a few teams after the first game of the NHL playoffs as well.

4. As a Pirates fan...
I haven't had any "big" games since 1990-92 when Barry Bonds was still a normal sized person.

7. I didn't know you were a Yankees fan, MdMd
I thought George Steinbrenner was the only person who ever called a series in April "crucial." That was because he had an itch up where the sun doesn't shine that could only be relieved by firing his manager.

5. Aren't you a little backwards on that headline?
You're implying the Yankees lost on their home turf. I know that's not what you meant, but aren't you drawing a wrongful conclusion that teams generally win more on the road?

6. It's the irony of the situation. See, when the Yankees play at Camden Yards, 75% of the fans
in the stands are Yankees fans. It really is like a home game for them. That is the reason for the way I worded the headline.
