Rowand suffers fractured cheek, concussion after getting HBP
As far as I know...none of the Giants, despite Padilla's checkered past, are claiming it was done intentionally. This stands in sharp contrast to all the whining we heard from the Mets and their fans when Matt Cain hit little Davey last year..

Get well soon Aaron...and if there's any retaliation needed, you know your teammates will take care of it..

1. I think he came from the Phillies , no?
They teach their hitters to crowd the plate.

2. I feel very bad for him BUT
should a Giants pitcher INTENTIONALLY break someone's cheekbone...They should go to jail FOR ASSAULT. I hate this "retaliation" shit. There is no excuse for ENDANGERING someone's LIFE for a goddamn game.

3. You know as well as I
that one of the unwritten rules of baseball is: you hit one of our guys, we'll hit one of yours. If the Giants feel retaliation is warranted, you can be sure we're going to see it..they are the Dodgers after all.

4. Intentional beanings/plunkings are the stupidest part of the game.
Looking forward to when teams start hiring goons to ride the bench and when someone gets hit intentionally, they charge the mound and beat the piss out of the pitcher.

6. Retaliation for what?
Rowan's getting hit was the retaliation for when the Giant's pitcher threw at Matt Kemp and knocked him down. After the Dodger's had hit 3 homers in the first two innings. Padilla accidentally hit him in the head because his control is off. Quit cryin'.

7. No one said it was intentional
but the Giants need to keep their options open in case something more is found out. Remember Padilla has a rep.

I've seen the speculation, but I don't think Padilla's pitch was even retaliation for Kemp. First off, he's now a Dodger...meaning he left his courage at the door. And remember, though he had a 5 run lead, 2 men were on base, 2 were already in, and it was the 5th so Padilla hadn't even qualified for the win yet.

Anyway, Tim and the Giants retaliated in the best way possible...by going right out the next day and humiliating the hated Dodgers on their home field.
