Red Sox----"Schilling heading to disabled list"

BOSTON -- The defending World Series champion Red Sox suffered another blow to their pitching staff when it was announced that ace right-hander Curt Schilling will be placed on the 15-day disabled list later this week with a mild bone bruise on his right ankle.

The news came just one day after the Sox learned they would be without left-hander David Wells for at least the next month. ..........

2. Oh man, don't be like that.

It's OK to hate an individual player without wishing ill to the Sox.
I know, because for years I hated Roger Clemens, but I still wanted the Sox to win. :)

Seriously though, this sucks. Our number 1 and 2 starters out, and our "ace" closer, Foulke looking like a batting practice pitcher. Ouch!

But I am concerned about Foulke. And I'm concerned about where these injuries will leave us.

At least the Sox won't lose today.

I have a friend who's a dyed-in-the-wool Yankee fan (he can't help himself.) It's funny; he has the same affliction.

Not that I expect it to happen but it would be rather ironic to see both Boston and NY in the cellar come October, looking up at Baltimore and the Jays. It COULD happen...
