Pedro Martinez Is Going To Win The NL Cy Young Award
In 4 starts...

2-0

2.17 ERA

29 Innings Pitched

11 Hits

38 Strikeouts

He's pitched the second most innings of anyone in the NL. He has far and away the most K's.

The guy is a stud, and he hasn't lost anything.

VOTE FOR PEDRO!!!

5. Give the batters a few turns at the plate and they might figure him out.

4. Suspect his winning percentage will be lower than now, his ERA higher,
his innings pitched per start lower, his hits given up per inning higher, and his strikeouts per inning lower after a grueling full season, but hope he can continue at/near this torrid pace.

7. he has averaged nearly 200 IP (197) in his seven years at Boston.

shea is more pitcher-friendly -- heck, anyplace would be.

I think the "pedro's shoulder" issue is artificial. tommy lasorda started that years ago when LA traded him to Mtl. pedro was "too small" and "too fragile", so they traded pedro, but kept his big brother, ramon. predictably, ramon's arm fell off a few years later.
