The greatest sports highlight of all time?
This guy thinks so:

Watch it to the very, very, very end.

9. In what way?
It didn't occur in a Superbowl---let alone a game winning drive in a Superbowl.

Plus---the scramble by Manning and catch by Tyree was far more exciting and difficult than the Montana/Clark play.

If you were to show both highlights to someone who never has never seen the plays---they'd pick the The Manning/Tyree play for more than the Montana/Clark play.

11. That's the context in which I was thinking...

Though upon further review, if the discussion is pure highlight, then there are a litany of other suggestions to consider from all realm of sports, professional and amateur. The Catch is nearest and dearest to 49er fans for obvious reasons -- the fact that it is still talked about today with regularity would have to put it in at least the top ten.

17. The Catch is the most inept nickname of all time
Rivaled only by The Drive.

Less than a decade earlier the media planted a truly spectacular moniker, The Immaculate Reception.

Anyway, Cal/Stanford 1982 is the single greatest sports highlight ever. The high school game is less remarkable if you've been to a high school game recently. Seemingly everything breaks for a TD. No threat of tackling and the inept fundamentals transfer upward to college and pro.

"Good gosh amighty!!" Almost as bad as that idiot announcer on Friday Night Lights. Someone should shoot these fools.

Only in Texas, I guess...
