Wow, I gotta be impressed by Iowa
Down 24-14 after 3 quarters at home against Indiana, they buckled down and scored 28 in the 4th. 42-24 final. I guess they're better than I thought.

1. I woke up and the score was 7-21
Iowa scored 35 points and Indiana scored 3 since I've been awake. I missed everything else.

Iowa fans can thank me for waking up. ;) :silly:

2. Indiana blew a 25 point lead last week
Edited on Sat Oct-31-09 03:19 PM by Upton
to Northwestern no less. And going into today, Indiana's defense was 9th in the Big Ten in both ppg and ypg given up.

The real question is, if Iowa is so good, why were they trailing such a team for 3 quarters to begin with?

Edited on Sat Oct-31-09 05:31 PM by JonLP24
I was asleep during the first two quarters but I caught the third and saw Iowa score 35 points and Indiana only 3. I was also looking for you when they were doing fan shots but I have no idea what you look like but I was looking for you anyways :silly:

:toast: To another great 4th quarter comeback. A win-is a win-is a win no matters how it happens.

4. And why is grass green? And the sky blue?
How did the Hawks fall behind? They were flat after a big road game last week. And tons of injuries. And the wind was howling. And they're a team that makes a lot of adjustments after the half. In the end, a win is a win and that was a solid victory. Besides, it makes for fabulous tv. Admit it - you didn't turn it off.

6. Hey, you know the receiver who scored the 92 yard touchdown?
On camera replays he didn't look back one time. Eyes focused on the endzone the entire time which is unusual. Receivers are tempted to look behind them to see how far they are behind. Not him, eyes straight forward the whole time.

:toast: to the win. :)

7. Lucky Number 7
That was McNutt - the kid who caught the last second touchdown last week. Sweet story. When Iowa took the timeout with 2 seconds left - McNutt called the play that they ran and won the game on it.

Hey - AZ State is winning, huh? Nice work!

20. ASU was lucky to be that close
At 14-0, I thought Cal might be ready for an easy one...then they gift wrap ASU a TD by fumbling on their own 3 and missing 2 easy FGs.

It was just a sloppy game, by both both sides...and gave ample evidence as to why neither team is in the running for the Pac 10 title.

Before Cal fumbled at their own 3 guess who fumbled at the 1 yard line before that? Arizona State did. About missed field goals, Lou Groza award winner has had an injured groin since week 3 so I don't want to hear that. Instead of going for long 40 yarder Arizona State went for it on 4th down. Plus they're defense is playing for the most part lights out and the reason why they aren't up for a Pac 10 title is because of Danny fucking Sullivan.

Arizona State and their penalties gift wrapped Cal excellent field position the entire 3rd quarter as well and a receiver was tackled while the ball was in his hands just for Cal to grab it and you're talking about 'luck'. WTF ever.

The Bears earned the win, it wasn't the fault of the officials...or whatever other excuse you want to hang out there.

It's too bad about Weber, but he's had that groin injury for weeks now....I find it hard to believe that there's nobody else on the team that can at least try some FGs. I remember in the UW game, Erickson was sending him out there attempting kicks that, considering his injury, were clearly out of his range...and one would think, might add to his recovery time.

26. I'm addressing 'luck'
Edited on Sat Oct-31-09 08:04 PM by JonLP24
I can think of hundred examples of 'luck' like the player who spiked the ball after returning a fumble putting them in field goal range but the penalty took them out and they don't have a healthy kicker that make field goals worth a damn. You're the one that brought up 'luck' and I'm addressing that shit. I know Cal fucking won and I'm not disputing that, I'm saying it wasn't because of 'luck' they were that close. They were that close because it was that fucking close.

You probably think you're clever for turning it around on me when you brought up 'excuses' or 'luck' why it was close.

and actually the game last night proved me to be correct, as I mentioned after the OSU game that I thought USC was still at least a year away.

Oregon looks great don't they? The Ducks are ready to carry the hopes of the Pac 10 into a BCS game.
