Oct. 22 (Bloomberg) -- The first four American League Championship Series games between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels attracted an average of 8.8 million viewers a night, a 19 percent increase over last year’s National League playoffs, Fox Entertainment Group Inc. said.
Viewership for Game 4, in which the Yankees won 10-1 on Oct. 20, surged 34 percent to 10.3 million from last year’s comparable game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers, Fox said, citing Nielsen Media Research Ltd.
The first three night games gave Fox its highest-rated Friday and Saturday in 10 months, and highest-rated Tuesday since the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in July.
