Guess who has five teams in the top 25?

But I say OU doesn't belong, even at 25th. They are 3&3

1. The problems I have with the rankings
I'm not a USC fan, but they should be ranked higher. I you put USC against Cincinnati, Boise State, and Iowa they would win.

3. I agree 100 percent.
I say the same about Miami... Miami would kill those teams.

4. Those teams are undefeated
And USC lost to (3-4)Washington. No way should USC be ranked higher and I'm a Pac-10 fan. Maybe Boise St but not the other 2.

5. that is true
It's just my opinion that USC can beat those teams in the long run. They have consistently blown out every Big Ten school in the Rose Bowl this entire decade.

7. USC has beaten 3 ranked teams...all on the road
Iowa, though 7-0, has played only twice outside of the state of Iowa.

Boise St. has played only 1 ranked team (at home), and the rest of their schedule is laughable.

Cincinnati plays in the Big East...need I say more?

None of those 3 teams is anywhere near the class of USC.

8. Ohio St recently lost to 2-5 Purdue so that win is no longer impressive
Cincinnati beat Oregon St and South Florida on the road plus they haven't lost.

Iowa beat 6-1 Penn St on the road and knocked Michigan out of the top 25 plus they haven't lost.

Bottom line these teams are undefeated and USC isn't. If these standings are fair at all they would not rank 1 loss teams over undefeated teams.

6. Preliminary 1st BCS standings:
1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Texas
4. Boise State
5. Cincinnati

Oh how the BCS is soooo wrong!

2. I was about to post about how OK shouldn't be ranked 25th,,,
But then I thought how they only lost to Miami and Texas by just a couple of points without Bradford. They're a good team but have had horrible luck.

9. Man. Who knows where to start with the utter bullshit posted here.
The Hawkeyes will take on any team, any time. Canes. No problem. Fuckin USC. Barely escapes an Irish team that not only lost to a Big Ten team that Iowa beat but almost lost to Purdue. What's the matter, Upton. Only won twice outside Iowa? Just in State College and Camp Randall. Two easy places to play....and handled one of your oh-so-tough PAC-10 teams. So knock off the overrated Iowa shit. We're 7-0. Nuff' fucking said.

10. I agree about USC
Edited on Sun Oct-18-09 05:21 PM by JonLP24
which is why I argued they should not be ranked higher than at least Iowa but I wouldn't put them past Cincinnati either because Cincinnati beat Oregon St on the road who the Beavers are a better team than Washington who has a record of 3-4 that USC lost to.

I wouldn't worry much about this week's edition of the BCS polls. Week 14, 15 is when it really matters.

11. Doesn't concern me one bit, Jon.
Will Iowa go undefeated? I doubt it. Hell, we may get beat this week. 10-2 is my guess and we'll be playing somewhere warm January 1st.

12. I meant that for others
Every time there is a poll out there is always massive complaints about who should be where and there. If whatever team you're concerned about keeps winning they'll just move higher. I think around week 12 is when things start becoming set in stone with most teams with about only 1 or maybe 2 games left so that is where it makes sense to complain.

13. I know, Jon.
Burns my fucking ass. 20 teams could kick Iowa's ass. What a fucking joke. We're winning with a quarter of the talent of the USC's and Miami's. Who the fuck wants to come to Iowa over some of these hotspots? Fuck. Miami? Until this year THE classic underachievers. How to they or USC EVER lose with the talent they get, Upton. I wouldn't take any of those mother-fuckin coaches over Ferentz. He does more with less better than anyone in the country. Makes our asses proud. Fuck, I don't think the Hawks were in the Top 50 in recruiting the last three years. How the fuck do they do it?

15. So you want to go to the Rose Bowl?
And not be ranked 1 or 2 to play for the BCS Championship?

Defeatist!

16. We played Texas, what, El, three years ago in the Alamo Bowl.
Iowa was 7-7, Texas 9-3. Had no business being in this game. Took the mighty Longhorns down to the wire in San Antonio. Still the most watched ESPN Bowl game, if I'm not mistaken.

14. I'd love to take on the 'canes
I'd love to take them on right here and now. Iowa just keeps on winning. It's not pretty, it's old school, but it works.
