5. At least this way we won't have an "Ice Bowl" in the NLCS
nice gratuitous slap at the Average Sized Team, by the way. :eyes:

7. Well, check the weather forecast for Philadelphia and New York later this
week. It only going to be in the upper 40's in MD later this week.

Yeah, funny, but I have not mentioned the San Francisco Smallmen in a couple of weeks. Why might that be?

4. Lots of missed opportunities by both teams.
I was honestly more surprised that the Phils put together some runs without the long ball in the 9th than I was that the Rockies finally managed to break through in the 8th after all our blown chances.

Exciting series down to the end. :toast:

8. I was a little
crazed at Utley going for the double play instead of taking the easy out at first. 2 out man on second, but got one out men on first and second. And the following batter would have been out three. It all came clean in the wash.

10. You and me both
I was ready to kill Chase right there. Dumb play. Gotta get the out. I was through with last night until I saw how Street could not make the Phillies chase that breaking ball low and away...I knew they had a chance then at least to tie. Onward to LA, and lets hope we are not beaten by the captains of both the Wolfpack and the Padilla Flotilla!!!

12. Where did Lidge come from????
He grew up here in the Denver area! He lives in Englewood. He was a stand-out at Cherry Creek High, just down the street from me.

Where did this Lidge guy come from???????

:grr:

14. Another
failed attempt by me at sarcasm directed towards other Phillie Fans. I think the Phillies have a minor league team in Scranton.

I would have hurt myself or broke something if the Phillies lost last night. I can empathize (I think thats the word.)

18. If Uncle Charlie gets him in the right spots
he can redeem the horrible season he has had. If only he had confidence in the fastball. Cutter is coming along. Slider is good when he isn't bouncing it (which he should only do with none on). I'm nervous as a cat but for the third year running I am glad to be in a position of nervousness. Phils fans our age are living through a time we thought we would never see again. I really think this team is better than the 70s teams.

13. I was too at first.
But on looking at the replay, I don't really blame him because that's a play that he and Rollins usually pull off. I think Jimmy was a little distracted by Fowler's leap which might have been the cause for the drop. It really sucked when it looked like that would lead to a Rockies win, but our guys just never give up :)

19. Nope, they never do
Their confidence has been the difference. I have never seen such a quietly confident team like this one in Philadelphia ever. Perhaps they can cross the street and teach the Eagles in the off-season.
