2. I don't ever see Hockey on TV anymore
The last time was the Stanley Cup and the game at Wrigley from what I remember. They sure as shit never show Coyotes games on Fox Sports like they used to do for every game.

3. I watched the Coyotes beat Pittsburgh earlier.
They looked excellent tonight. Outplayed the pens in all aspects of the game. 2-0 to start with both games road wins.

4. Damn, I was going organize a rally to bring back Gretzky
:silly:

I'm not into Hockey but I watched the 30 for 30 about the Oilers-Kings trade yesterday on ESPN and it was interesting to say the least. I'll be on the look out for Coyote games in the future just to check it out.

5. It's really great once you start to understand the rules, which can seem odd at first.
It's a great sport. It has intensity, hard hits, graceful skaters, amazing saves, and fighting. If you ever get a chance to see a game live do it. That's where the sport really shines. TV doesn't do it justice.

6. One thing about Hockey rules is when I played a Hockey video game...
Edited on Wed Oct-07-09 11:31 PM by JonLP24
I always was called offsides and could never figured it out why and it was frustrating. Then I became more aware of Soccer rules and it's something a long the lines you can't pass it to someone that is past the last defender. I wonder if Hockey is the same way?

Anyways Coyotes play all the way in Glendale near where the Cardinals play and that is a long way from where I live and I have no car. I won't rule it out completely though.

Edit still not sure what 'Icing' is but I guess it's when you knock the puck all the way cross court?

7. Ok, here's Hockey 101

Offsides in hockey isn't the same as in soccer, though it's similar. In hockey, it's offsides in any offensive player crosses the blue line into the other team's zone before the puck enters the zone. Even if the puck carrier were to skate backwards and enter the zone before the puck on his stick does it's still offsides. The puck always has to enter the zone before any offensive player can. If the puck is cleared in and offensive players are already in the zone they have to clear the zone and then reenter before they can play the puck.

Icing is when a player clears the puck into the other team's zone from the other side of the red line at center ice. In order for it to be icing the puck has to cross the goal line at the end of the rink, and a defensive player has to touch the puck first. If an offensive player gets to it first the icing is negated. In international and Olympic hockey the whistle blows as soon as the puck crosses the goal line, but in the NHL the touch up rule applies.

Confused yet? :)

8. No you explained it perfectly
Edited on Wed Oct-07-09 11:56 PM by JonLP24
I fully understand offsides in hockey and also the way you explained Icing is what I thought it was, what I didn't know was the red-line and goaline part as well as the first one to the the puck. Offsides was the one I had no clue what it was and Icing always happened to me(in video games) when I chucked the puck all the way across the court. Thanks :hi:

10. LOL it's ok
I just turned it to Black Gold myself. I don't know why I love that show but it's only on at 10 AZ Time on Wednesday at TruTV. I'm still checking the score during commercials which is 5-2 Dodgers.
