Women's Final Four
Who do the people of DU think is going to win in the Women's Final Four? Who are members rooting for? I am hoping that Tennessee will win. Is anyone surprised that UCONN will not be in the Women's Final Four?

1. Go Michigan State
In both the mens and womens final four, although they have a better chance in the womens.

5. I'll probably be the only one rooting for Baylor
Partially influenced by the fact I have a nice future bet on them. I'm in good shape to hedge and guarantee a profit.

I really like the Baylor coach, Kim Mulkey. She is married now but I don't know her married name. She was a feisty little pigtailed point guard terror for Louisiana Tech in the early-to-mid '80s when I was a student at USC. Our great teams with Cheryl Miller, Pam McGee, Paula McGee and Cynthia Cooper narrowly defeated Louisiana Tech in the Final Four two straight years, '83 and '84, en route to the national title. We would have blown them out if not for Kim Mulkey.

Surprisingly, she turned down a chance to coach at her alma mater to take over the Baylor job. Last year Baylor was royally screwed against Tennessee in the NCAAs. I think it was the regional final. Baylor missed a chance to win the game, then there was a random loose ball collision at the buzzer. The damn referees conferred for several minutes, then predictably called a foul on Baylor, essentially ending the game with a cheap free throw after time expired. Kim Mulkey fell to the court in disbelief when the refs signalled the foul.

9. They screwed her first.
They refused to give her a long-term contract to replace Barmore.

6. Baylor or Michigan St.
But I'm a UConn fan, so there's no way I could root for Tennessee. And everyone is picking LSU so I hate to see a foregone conclusion.

I'm not surprised UConn isn't in it, because they didn't have a good year. They were very inconsistent all year, and no one was willing to be the go to player after Taurasi left. Not that I'm not disappointed...

8. Awesome job Baylor and Kim Mulkey
I hedged my future bet (probably too much) against LSU, but at least I was sharp enough to back Baylor tonight.

Handicapping the vulnerability aspect seldom lets me down. Michigan St. trailed Tennessee 45-29 in the second half on Sunday. That type of vulnerability seldom produces a successful result in the final. Likewise with Illinois in the men's game. North Carolina never fell behind by 14 points late, as Illinois did to Arizona in the regional final.
