Marlins P Badenhop, manager Gonzalez suspended

Florida Marlins reliever Burke Badenhop has been suspended three games and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Badenhop hit the Dodgers' Orlando Hudson and was ejected. It came after a warning had been issued in the sixth.

Badenhop's suspension will start Tuesday, as the Marlins begin a three-game home series with Atlanta. The suspension will not take hold if Badenhop chooses to appeal.

Also suspended was Florida manager Fredi Gonzalez, for Badenhop's intentional actions after the warning. Gonzalez was also ejected after Badenhop hit Hudson, and has been suspended for Tuesday's game.


This is cr*p. Oh yeah and Weaver only got a fine for his intentional hit on Hanley Ramirez. The Marlins were hit 3 times in the game. The Dodgers were only hit once. Yet the Marlins are the only ones suspended.
