Who is your 2009 Heisman pick?!
Here's my unbiased choice. :)

The University of Tennessee officially launched a Heisman Trophy campaign for star defensive back Eric Berry on Tuesday morning.

2. Not just a DB. The best defensive playet in college football.

Yea, he won't win...

But it's time to shake things up and pick someone other than a QB all the time.

13. It's not unheard of

Returning some kicks and playing some offense is a must however. But a DB winning the Heisman is possible.

3. I refuse to speculate this early,
but whoever eventually wins the trophy I'm sure our Lord God Jesus of Gainesville will be in the running from start to finish.

14. There's no telling what changed during this 15 minutes:
Not that there's anything wrong with it!

(I'm sure they were just going over plays or something).

10. Yea you don't think other schools do the same thing?
He's one of the best-least publicized players in college football which is why my coach Lane Kiffin and the university is trying to spread the word.

11. Berry is awesome
Didnt he take some snaps at QB last year too? Would be nice to see the Heisman come back to the SEC, but I doubt he'll end up winning it.

My team has to face the Vols in Neyland this year and it's going to be a tough one (they're starting a new coach too).

12. I'd pick Taylor Mays over Berry as far as DB's go.

Not that a defensive player will win the Heisman again any time soon IMO. I'm going to go with a darkhorse candidate in Cal RB Jahvid Best. He averaged over 8 yards a carry last year and set the school record for all-purpose yards. But of course he won't win because the voters in the last decade or so refuse to give the trophy to anyone except QB's from title contending schools. Reggie Bush is the notable exception to that rule.

By then, he's 58. Maybe too late. Fine with me. Love him.
