The Big Ten Channel is now in HD!!!!!
How's the SEC Channel doing? How 'bout that PAC-10 Channel? Up and running, yet? Big 12? That's a laugh. Until you folks are on the level of America's Premier Athletic Conference, you'll always be just second tier. We KNOW where the real fans are, now, don't we?

4. I'll be honest, mad.Didn't think the Big 10 was available out east.
Most excellent. What channel is the SEC on? You MUST get the ACC channel, at least. No?

5. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Not even the Big East has a channel here!!

Though, like the rest of country, we are stuck with the Notre Dame Broadcasting Channel (aka NBC).

24. I Watched The Conference Track Meet
About a month ago, i think it was. We have Comcast, too, and like others have said, we've had it since we went HD.

At first, Comcast wasn't carrying Big10Net at all. But, when they did, both the regular and HD versions were there.

13. Hehe! No. The Mountain West is real conference. The Big Sky
is the small sister to the Pac-10 and the Mountain West.

11. Whatever, hughee.
When the conference you follow FINALLY gets their own channel, if they ever do, just remember who started it.

15. Say what you want, but the ACC isn't overrated.
Edited on Wed Jul-08-09 10:05 PM by hughee99
It is, overall, a week division that usually produces 1 or 2 quality teams a year. In a good year, they'll produce a team worthy of the automatic BCS spot they get.

I'm not one of those "all the Big Ten teams suck" guys, they produce good teams every year, and sometimes some great ones. I'm just sick of seeing their 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th place teams being nationally ranked (Last year, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Northwestern and Illinois all spent time in the top 25). Of course, when the mid-ranked teams are overrated, the top teams get too much credit for beating them, and then I have to watch a bunch of bad bowl games.

16. Over-rated??
Football, yes. Basketball, obviously no.

Just like the Big Ten is overrated in Basketball.

Interestingly, in the bowl games, you have the 5-8th teams in the Big Ten playing the conference champions from the mid majors, like the Big Sky Conference and the Atlantic Ten.

17. Overrated in football?
Does anyone hold ACC in very high esteem in football? Sure they can produce 1 or 2 good teams on occasion, but overall, it's weak and I think most people recognize it. They get an automatic BCS bid, which they don't always deserve, but the BCS has a lot of issues.

Last year, Iowa beat up on South Carolina, but Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Wisconsin all lost (to Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, and Florida State respectively) with only NW making a good game of it (OT if I recall).

19. Small correction, hughee.
Michigan State hung tough with Georgia. Remember- all road games for the Big Ten. But that's another subject, isn't it?

22. I think you're right...

IIRC, although MSU lost by more than 10, they were still in it late in the 2nd half.

On edit:
Other than Wisconsin vs. Florida St. in Orlando (and of course Penn St. in the Rose bowl, which is an advantage to the Pac-10 every year, but don't get me started on the Pac-10, I think the Big-10 is a better conference top to bottom every year) no other game was in someone's "backyard". You could argue that Orlando is home field for Georgia, but I wouldn't agree.

Ohio St/Texas in Arizona
Kansas/Minnesota in Arizona
Iowa/South Carolina in Tampa
Mizzou/NW in San Antonio

18. In fairness Condem, the Big 10 channel usually broadcasts the less than
marquee matchups for the week. ABC still gets the big games and the Deuce gets the noon starters with that horrible woman/old man annoucing team.

By the way, I'm going to the USC/Buckeyes game in September, and probably more, maybe an away to Indiana.
Tressel needs to win this one at home to get his street cred back with the national boys, if not, the BCS voters won't give him the benefit of the doubt like they did in the past.

How about the Hawkeyes this year? When I was growing up in Illinois I remember the Illinois/Iowa game being a big deal. I'm also going to try to see an Illini game this year. Of course, with a one year old, momma may not be too keen on daddy leaving for a day or two to see football with the boys.

I'n not building this game up too much. Simply put, a must win for the rep of the Big Ten.
