San Jose Sharks resign 39 year old Rob Blake for one year at 3.5 mill
Dumb signing of the day. Not that I don't respect what the numbers this guy puts up at the ripe old age of 39.

If I'm San Jose I look for guys that are willing to get their nose bloody. I would have tryed to clear some space so I could get Jay Boumeister or Mike Komisarik (whos coming off a bad year in Montreal but plays with an edge and is still nasty) to give a little more physicality.

I'd have allowed Blake to sit for a while and seen what space I have left over to retain him. It's not like teams are gonna line up to sign him (alhtough Glen Sather may be dumb enough to give hime 7 mill a year on a five year deal).

More mismanagement in San Jose.

1. And we all breathe a collective sigh of relief that you're not San Jose
We don't need fans of worst teams in the National Hockey League giving us any pointers.

4. Yeah my team was one of the greatest dynasties in pro sports history
We islanders fans don't know anything about winning one a dem shiny cups.

We's all stupids.

We concede to the brilliance of the San Jose Sharks post season successes.

5. Yes, yes. I think if I'm correct, that was also around the same time
they were signing the Declaration of Independence.

:boring:

2. I was hoping Blake would be back
and 3.5 ain't nothin' so I've got no problem with it at all. At 39 he's still got one of the hardest slapshots in the league and was an asset to the Sharks last year...

Of course you wouldn't know that, seeing as how you were back in the eastern time zone, rooting for a team that had the worst point total in the league, and likely saw very few entire Sharks games..hence, your east coast bias.

BTW..I wouldn't do so much talking..even with Tavares, the Islanders are a longshot to make the playoffs. One thing he is assured with helping with, at least initially, is attendance...that wouldn't take much considering the Islanders were last in the league in that too.

3. Again, I have no beef with Blake's play
But the Sharks would have been better off looking to see what space they could clear out and signing Jey Bo or Komisarek.

At this rate you are getting the same choker team back this season that you had last season.

I would have put Blake as a secondary priority. The reason why he signed now as opposed to after the market opening up was because he wasn't getting another offer anywhee else. Your team is managed by a bunch of morons and it's full of guys that don't want to pay the price and get their nose bloody in the post season.

That's why your season lasted six games longer than the Islanders. Anaheim beat you cause they don't care to walk out of the game with a black eye and a bloody nose.

But sure, make it all about the Islanders. They are just as capable of putting up the same post season performance as the Sharks and don't need to finish with the presidents trophy to do it. That's how freakin sad your franchise is now.

The East Coast Bias.

Etc.....
