I ate gnocchi for the first time on Friday
Edited on Mon Oct-16-06 04:43 PM by neebob
and then I got a note from the chef, asking me out. What do you think the FSM is trying to tell me?

Edit: Ack! I intended to reply to the other thread about the FSM, not start a new thread. Will I now be punished?

1. Fascinating!
Are you sure, though, that the FSM isn't offended by your choice of pasta? ;)

12. No, I'm not sure
I should think if he'd been pleased, he'd have sent a taller man to hit on me. And now I've made a noodly spectacle of myself, accidentally starting a new thread.

6. Au contraire!
From the Creed of St. Boyardee (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=214&topic_id=91856&mesg_id=91863)

And the Noodly Faith is this:
That we worship one Spaghetti Monster in Trinity,
and Trinity in Unity,
neither confounding the Pastas, nor dividing the Sauce.

For there is one Pasta of the Spaghetti,
another of the Noodle,
and another of the Holy Gnocci.

8. sorry, I'm an eastern orthodox FSM adherent
there is no trinity. Just the FSM and his only offspring, the Holy Meatball. We pronounce our "o"'s funny too and there's nothing you can do aboot it.

13. I am interested in your sect
as I see gnocchi as an abomination. Must your meatballs be animal flesh or can I use soy products.

14. you may transubstantiate with soy products
we'll wait a couple of centuries before we let the schism split the church and drive your kind into hiding whilst eating soy products in illegal secret gatherings. Or maybe the other way around, who knows.

:P

9. GNOCCHI

Were they POTATO or SEMOLINA gnocchi?

WHITE or RED sauce?

And, finally:

Did you go on a date with the CHEF?

11. Potato gnocchi
with asparagus, some kind of mushrooms that I forget, truffle oil, and gorgonzola. The chef I was too blown away to really notice, but I'm pretty sure he's not my type and I'm not in the market anyway. It explained why he delivered the first couple of plates personally and addressed me, out of a party of five, saying the rest of the food would be out shortly. My friends were all, "What was that for?" and I said, "I dunno, I must look like the man." He gave me the note as I left the restaurant. Then I realized I'd been surveilled. My girlfriends thought it was courageous and cool, but I'm skeptical.
