church/state intro

In my intro to american gov't class that I TA for, we're going to talk a little about the separation of church and state this week. Part of my lecture will have them reading the NYT series on religion that's currently running. In addition to that, can anyone recommend any good outside material to bring in as an introduction to the larger separation of church/state topic? They seem to like it when I bring in clips from NPR in class, but I wanted to look elsewhere. I thought about clips from 'The Daily Show' to help break the ice.
