3. It depends on how you take it
Some Christian's do use it to scare people, which I think is wrong, but others use it for hope that this world isn't the end and there is a better place etc. :shrug: There is a Bible verse, my brain is half asleep now so I can't recall now, that tells you not to worry about the end times and it will come like a thief in the night. So I don't worry about it.

12. You should READ it then- that "rapture" crap isn't actually there!
Those blithering Rapture-philes have taken the "Cafeteria Bible" concept
to unprecedented levels of idolatrous ignorance.

They aren't just picking books or chapters to 'believe in' these days;
they are actually building their 'Faith' on cherry-picked SENTENCES.

As an 'artist' who paints in the "Surrealist"(visual depiction of THOUGHT itself) style,
I could paint for another thousand years just using Genesis and Revelations for inspiration.

Just to make my point:
EVERYONE has heard of the "4 horsemen of the Apocalypse",
but how many of us actually KNOW the real details?

I call this "The 3rd Horseman" for short,
but its FULL name is the complete text of
the 5th and 6th verses of the 6th chapter of Revelations.

And I sleep sound in the knowledge that I know more about the 3rd Horseman
than the idiots who worship the "Left Behind" novels will ever dream of.
If they ever truly DREAM at all......

Rev 6:5
And when he had opened the third seal,
I heard the third beast say, Come and see.
And I beheld, and lo a black horse;
and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say,
"A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny;
and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine."

13. There's no Rapture stuff in Revelation.
That was read into the text about 1800 years after it was written.

14. It's possibly the result of hallucinations the author had.
I personally think it's more of a kinda "perk up, Christians, those Romans are gonna get it for messing with us" document. Not anything you should take seriously.
And the Rapture isn't part of Revelations. It was the invention of a coupla 19th century evangelical preachers who took verses from Isaiah out of context.

16. As far as I know it isn't meant to be taken literally
In the second chapter of Revelations it states Ephesus (the central faculty of desire or constructive thought)the angel(spiritual perceptive facilities) who holds the seven stars in his right hand and the seven golden candlesticks in his other. Who holds seven stars and what are the stars (truths that are remote or hard to grasp) and candlesticks (receptacles of spiritual life)?

Seven is the number of the major chakras or energy centers in the human body. He who understands, holds the knowledge, what does it mean? Why would we take any of it totally literally when it's obviously hints and cheats (a term gamers use when they need help with a video game) made to get you to think about how to maneuver through life without hurting yourself or others. Gather as much information as you can it is not as it appears.

17. This was the dumbest thread move ever.
It was just a lame copycat of "Revelation: I hate New York City" and it ended up here. Sorry folks.
