'End of the World' Warnings: Scare Tactics to Sell Books?
Billy Graham's daughter, Ann Graham Lotz, says in her new book that she believes Jesus' return is imminent: "The signs that Jesus gave and the headlines in the news are coming together in a dramatically sobering way," Lotz told Charisma News Online.

If I had a dollar for every time someone said Jesus' return was imminent, I'd be able to buy Microsoft and have money left over for stock in Berkshire-Hathaway.

3. Kinda like those who write anti-theist/anti-religious books.
It's all blather.

6. I don't see the analogy
The book in the OP is clearly a scam or delusional.
If you want to compare the Atheist books to the many books by religious folks about the meaning of their religion or living the religious life, I would agree with the comparison.
But if you are comparing what Dawkins or Hitchens write with this kind of drivel your disdain of the atheist has warped your thinking

7. Dawkins and Hitchens are as biased as it comes and definitely NOT
mainline reasoning. Total BS. But it sells.

10. I mean my post
I realize you disagree with the Atheist. As I disagree with writers like Rick Warren.
But I suggest you comparing them to the silliness for the book in the OP is disingenuous.
I think Christian writes are full of shit, but I don't put them in the category of the looney fundies.
As you do with Dawkins and Hitchens.
You have obviously lost you objectivity.

11. I absolutely do compare them "to the silliness." The atheistic POV
is based on the most narrow of epistemologies. And it only makes perfect sense if you are of the same mind.

12. Okay
you either have not read Dawkins and Hitchens or are to blinded by your bias to understand them.
Thanks for playing...Bye:hi:

those who rid themselves of the bias that holds them in the atheist's very narrow POV. The more inclusive, non-atheistic POV also includes everyone who is a religious believer.

14. Do i agree with everything that is put out by every religious prognosticator?
Edited on Tue Aug-23-11 04:44 PM by humblebum
Of course not, but I find conclusions drawn by atheists like Dawkins and Hitchens equally ridiculous. That's where the term "fundie atheist" comes from.
