Top 5 most outrageous statements from Rick Perry’s prayer rally
5. Public Schools Should Bring Back Prayer and the Ten Commandments

“Lord, I pray that we might see a reinstating of the display of the Ten Commandments in our classrooms. I pray Lord that we will again see freedom to pray in our classrooms.”

4. Jews Should Convert to Christianity

“Tens, even hundreds, of thousands of Jewish people in the last decades have come to their Messiah. And so Lord, we pray for the revival around the world, and for Israel to come to their own Messiah.”

3. Humanists Can’t Be Good Without God

“In the humanistic culture, people are talking about love without reference to Jesus Christ.”

2. Jesus Was Anti-Gay Marriage and Anti-Choice

“There’s a crisis of truth in the pulpits today in our land. That, in the name of tolerance, even in the name of love, we are redefining love that is not on God’s terms. Jesus is god. There is no other god than Jesus. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All the world religions, they can say what they say. There is no other god besides Jesus. There is no other standard of truth. Jesus alone is the standard of truth. He defines morality. He defines marriage. He defines life. He defines righteousness. And in our allegiance to him, we say what he says. It’s time to come out in the open. It’s time to go public. Regardless what it costs us, we love you Jesus! The only god!”

1. God Is Not Political (Says the Would-Be Presidential Candidate Hosting the Prayer Rally)

“His agenda is not a political agenda. His agenda is a salvation agenda … He is a wise, wise god, and he is wise enough to not be affiliated with any political party. Or for that matter, He is wise enough to not be affiliated with any man-made institutions.”

4. Talking about love
“In the humanistic culture, people are talking about love without reference to Jesus Christ.”

Seems like a simple statement of fact to me.

But surely religious people do too? As a humanist myself I wouldn't know, but I doubt that religious people reference Jesus Christ every time they talk about love.

"Darling, I love you almost as much as I love Jesus"???

5. Yeah, but the liberal Christians in R/T can't bring themselves
to condemn the guy.

How anyone can see this shit and still spend all of their time trying to show how it is the evil atheists of the world that are causing problems is beyond me.

7. What garbage
“Lord, I pray that we might see a reinstating of the display of the Ten Commandments in our classrooms. I pray Lord that we will again see freedom to pray in our classrooms.”

Students and teachers can pray all they want in classrooms. They can pray until their little heads pop off. The only restriction is that school officials (as agents of the state) cannot lead the students in prayer. But of course that's what the RRRW theocrats want--and of course the prayer has to be to the Christian god in Jesus' name. Meanwhile the hypocritical SOBs would blow a gasket if there were a prayer to Allah.

“In the humanistic culture, people are talking about love without reference to Jesus Christ.”

If you're incapable of loving without the help/orders of your mystical friend you're one screwed up and scary person.

10. "He is a wise, wise god"
Yet he doesn't accept an animal sacrifice if the animal's ball sack is bruised, crushed, torn or cut.
I don't know about anyone else, but I find it very hard to believe that the freaking omnipotent creator of all freaking existence would care about the condition of a goat's BALL SACK.
