couple charged with child neglect for leaving hungry toddler's care 'in God's hands'
A Riviera Beach couple was arrested Wednesday night for child neglect, after allegedly telling police that they live life in God and don't need to work despite not having any money to feed their toddler.

--snip--

The couple also told police that the toddler has eaten solid food once. Vilain added that he refuses to apply for aid because "he leaves everything in God's hands," the deputy noted.

"The two apparently believe that the 'normal' American lifestyle is evil and that they need to live with minimal items to survive," the deputy stated in the report. "Neil (Vilain) says he lives day-to-day and does not think about the future of the family. He says he leaves that in the hands of God."

1. if they refuse to apply for aid and therefore are unable to provide for their child
then they need to not have that child and god did provide for him by placing him in foster care where he will get what he needs.

5. Yea for true Christians showing the futility of trusting in God.
But then maybe foster dare is God stepping in to nourish the child.

11. Matthew 6:26
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

By a strange coincidence I have explained this phenomenon elsewhere in this forum today. "Honored in the breach."

For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. - 2 Thessalonians 3:10

The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied. - Proverbs 13:4

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. - 1 Timothy 5:8

These dumbasses need to read their Bible.

14. They sound like a marginal and troubled couple
Something like 85% of Floridians are religious, and that won't keep these folk from being prosecuted
