7. What about your signature line?
Edited on Tue May-10-11 09:57 PM by Boojatta
Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning the Devil says, "Oh Crap, She's Up"!

It sounds as though the Devil has an unpleasant duty. For example, perhaps the Devil didn't expect, when entering into the agreement, that hypothetical situations (described in the agreement) would later actually arise. When an unanticipated sequence of events produces the unexpected situation, the Devil is nevertheless committed to fulfilling his side of the bargain.

5. No because all those deals involve finite benefits vs. infinite detriments.
Do the math. In this case, subtraction.

10. The Devil, Gyp...err "Irish Travelers", late night Infomercials never "actually" have good deals.
Although forced to a choice between the three I'd have to choose the Devil.

He's better company than the JuicemasterstaincleanerAbmachine.

He's a more pleasant person that The Travelers.

But don't ever lay anything you value down in front of any of them.

11. It's like Bedazzled - the original or the remake
Old Clootie has been around too long to not be able to find a loophole no matter how airtight you think you've made a possible agreement.

13. I hear that G. Gordon Liddy was sentenced to 20 years.
How much time he actually served is another question. Did he blame the Devil for his troubles? That sounds like what a serial killer would do, especially the kind of serial killer who has a satanic style fetish and who attracts groupies.

14. Will you please explain the difference between these two options?
"Yes, I would consider it."

and

"It depends upon exactly what the deal is."

These two options seem to go together.

15. For some deals, once you fully understand the terms of the contract,
Edited on Tue May-10-11 11:25 PM by Boojatta
you might be unwilling to even consider agreeing to those terms.

For other deals, after you fully understand the text of the contract itself ...

... and after you also have a strong understanding of the consequences of entering into it as a legally binding contract (i.e. after somebody has done research of case law to find out how judges interpret the kind of language that is used in the contract, and after that somebody has thoroughly briefed you on the results of that research) ...

... you might be hesitant, but nevertheless willing to spend some time pondering the deal and trying to decide whether or not what you would be committing yourself to would be worth the benefits that you anticipate.

19. Hmm...okay.
Then as I see it, if the devil was real, then hell would be real.

No matter how tempting the deal, it wouldn't be worth an eternity in hell.

I gotta stick with No Deal.

B-)

20. I don't know...
I'm not so sure that hell is as bad a place as god would have us believe. I mean just look at what he said about the apple, "if you eat it, you will surely die!" turns out it just landed Adam and his woman in the world. Which, I think we can both agree, is a pretty fucking sweet place. So how do we know god's not pulling some greenland/iceland shit on us with heaven and hell? I mean we already know all the cool people are going to hell (huge hint).

I gotta say yes, I would consider it.

21. I dont think he's real either but hypothetically
he's evil, so odds are pretty high that whatever deal he has for me has some sort of bad end for me no matter how good it looks on the surface.

Live forever (but age normally otherwise).

Never grow old (but hit by a bus the next day).

Become the wealthiest man in the world (then lose all five senses and go into a coma the next day).

Or it could be that you have zero negative effects at all, you even keep your soul, but it turns out your deal results in 1000 people dying.

23. Why is he necessarily evil?
Because god says so? God wrote the history book. Would Hitler be portrayed as evil if he had won? No. The victors write the history. Hell just means that you are absent from god. If it is the god of the Old Testament, then I have no problem with that.

24. I think if the evil being
named Satan by the Christians actually exists, then he's kinda going to have to be evil, it's their thing, they get to define him.

Since I don't think he exists it's a hypothetical question, but if you are going to reject that he's even evil then the hypothetical is completely meaningless, might as well replace it with what if Bob offered you a deal.
