For those of you who think we are nasty here on R/T
Just go to GD and post something that is anti-smoking.

Just saying.

Meant to lighten things up.

1. Now you need to tell me ...
Is this something that belongs in the "anti-smoking" category?

2. No
It's when you agree that governments should limit or even ban smoking that the knives come out.

3. Anti-smoking, pro-rottweiler, or
you don't even have to post something that is "anti" or "pro" to get labelled and flamed. Just post how you like to buy things based on their value instead of based on their origin, and you're anti-union. Express the fact that you don't think citizens are safe and smart enough to handle heroin and suddenly you're pro-drug-war.

There's a reason the initials are GD: If haven't said "goddammit" while looking at that forum at least once, you haven't spent more than 5 minutes there.

4. WHAT?
You think heroin should be legal? You stinking hippie! Don't you know what heroin does to people or where it comes from? You are no better than the drug dealers who push this shit on kids. Why don't you go smoke some pot go to WalMart and let people who know about the perils of drugs like heroin first hand do the thinking. You moron.

Something like that? :D

11. Flame wars more than debate I would say
The same was true back in the 2004 primaries with the Kerry crowd vs Dean crowd. Primary season is probably the toughest time for the DU admins.

10. If you set foot in walmart, you are evil and you have sold out.
And we are only supposed to live in approved liberal zones. The only acceptable place to live in Texas is Austin, apparently.

We are supposed to buy all our veggies at farmers' markets, drive an electric car, ONLY if we can't take the bus or subway (that's why we are supposed to live in those approved liberal zones).

We must compost, grow our own veggies in our spare time, after our 8 hour job & raise chickens and goats and pigs.
Even those of us who grew up in the city and know nothing about raising farm animals.

Sometimes the goddamn hippie vegans just hack me off.

13. Let see
you are evil to shop in Walmart. It was evil to do business with Nazi Germany too.
Austin is the only city in Texas a decent person would live.
It would be nice if you could, farming can't be that hard if all those redneck crackers can do it.

If you are not part of the solution... Power to the People... and other hippie stuff.

You are required to ride your bike 20 miles to work when it's 8 degrees out, or you are not a true progressive.

25. I'm not sure why anyone things R/T is any different than any message board
anywhere. Its pretty typical of every internet place I've seen. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has them. And there are many of both here...:)

27. Great snarky broadside.
Many of us here do not simply submit "opinions' but engage in a debate based on reason, facts and critical thinking.
Your opinion matters as much as you state it does.
