Here's my point...
Sometimes I watch televangelists...in fact I tend to watch a lot of religious programming. I find it interesting and mildly entertaining.

But there are times when I get so upset at the deception and downright lies that I'm tempted to call and let them know how I feel.

There is a guy on right now that is using the term "credit card seed." He wants $1,000 from every viewer and is promising that financial security will result.

I'm just so tired of this.

Not something Jesus ever taught, to the best of my knowledge. Preys on people who want financial help, many of whom can probaly least afford it.

Sounds like a good investment. There's a tiny tiny chance that this verse is being misinterpreted.

issue for me. I understand your frustration, but there is the off switch or channel selector to consider.

I'm trying to understand your post (response). Are you saying that any attempt to respond to these people is against the law? Just curious.

I'm not trying to offend anyone. And you must be aware that there are those that may not see the world in the same way you do.

The Riot Act — full title "An act for preventing tumults and riotous assemblies, and for the more speedy and effectual punishing the rioters" — was hastily passed by the British government in July 1715 and came into force the following month.

This was the period of the Catholic Jacobite riots, when mobs opposed to the new king, the Hanoverian George I, were attacking the meeting houses of dissenting groups...The government feared uprisings, and passed a draconian law making it a felony if a group of more than twelve persons refused to disperse more than an hour after magistrates had told them to do so.

To invoke the law, the magistrates had to read the proclamation contained in the Act aloud to the mob, something that often required more courage than they could summon up: "Our sovereign Lord the King chargeth and commandeth all persons, being assembled, immediately to disperse themselves, and peaceably to depart to their habitations, or to their lawful business, upon the pains contained in the act made in the first year of King George, for preventing tumults and riotous assemblies. God save the King."

The pains or penalties were penal servitude for life or not less than three years, or imprisonment with or without hard labour for up to two years. The Act remained in force for a surprisingly long time, only finally being repealed in 1973, though it had been effectively defunct for decades.

11. As W.C Fields said, "there is a sucker born every minute." It saddens me that people fall for this

but at the same time, I have trouble finding deep sympathy for them as they freely CHOOSE to believe that sending their money to a guy on TV will reap rewards.
